They're almost here again.  Spring is here and that means that summer is right around the corner and time for the Mistiuls to hide their special stones.   The hunt will soon be  on  for these magical eggs, here on the central coast of California.  Throughout Santa Maria, Orcutt, Nipomo and Lompoc, the Mistiuls (Mis-tee-yule) will leave a Stunning Stone that you may just  find.  What's a Stunning Stone you ask?  Let me tell you a story...

The Legend

Long ago, before history was recorded,  it was known  that  every Extrodinaire and Realm Dweller was paired with a Mistiuil at birth. A Mistuil is a bird born from the heavens, charged with guiding each of us through challenging times. Everyone has a bird guide.... only, those of us who haven't discovered our extrodinaire talents  or weren't born within the realm, may not have yet been introduced to ours.  Then again, maybe we have!

Your Mistiul could be a wren, a falcon, a sparrow  or any number of feathered fowl you come across.  However, once your Mistiuil finds you they will always be there.  You may notice them lurking in a tree near your house or on the fence outside your school, keeping an eye on you in case you need them.

The product of a Mistiuil's fossilized egg, the Stunning Stone resembles a rock.  They come in varying shapes and sizes and are easy to spot. If you're lucky enough to find one, you may be  lucky enough to have found  your Mistiuil too! Each Stunning Stone bears the feather of the Mistiuil for which it belongs. Keep yours eyes open!

The Gift

It's said that if you find a stone you will be gifted with the mindfulness and patience you need to face certain trials in your life.  A gift has to be cultivated so even in possession of the stone you'll need to work hard to stay calm in times of adversity and remember to  treat people the way you want to be treated. With the confidence you earn through practicing integrity and grace when interacting with all people, in possession of the stone you will find the courage to face obstacles in your life you may have thought impossible.  Even if your words and actions don't completely "stun" and stop what you are facing, you will have the strength to overcome and you will be less and less affected by the words and actions that are offending.  With prudence and the Aitheasc (Ah-hask) (Stunning Stone), you will become part of the diversity of the world, leading with your heart and becoming an example of what it means to be a true Extrodinaire!

Impel the Power

It's important you understand that alone, the stone has no power.  Only with the goodness, bravery and strength that already resides within  you can the power be fully realized.  In order to activate this unique power, upon finding a stone you must complete a good deed the same day. This may be as simple as a hug for someone in need or a thank you to show appreciation, but everyday a good deed must be done to keep the energy moving. Hold on to your faith and the values you've been raised with. These things will see you through the hardest times in life.  With the stone in your possession, keeping it close, you will be reminded of who you are, where you came from and what you're capable of.

Stay Tuned

Although we don't have an exact date for the first stones to be delivered, we do know a couple of things; The first stones will appear sometime in the middle of the summer break and 20 stones will be left behind somewhere in the Santa Maria/Orcutt area first.

Make sure you keep checking back to find out when the first Stunning Stones will arrive and  for the clues that will tell you  where you might find one.

By the way, one lucky stone finder will win a special gift, filled with Winter Oak merchandise and a few other fun surprises as well. We'll let you know which stone is the lucky keep coming back!
